Our Mission Statement

The mission of LaVallee Chiropractic is to release the inborn healing potential of the body by removing interference (subluxations) between the brain and the body to allow proper communication through the nervous system. We not only provide care for the patient with symptoms, but also for the patient wanting to experience optimum health by having their body functioning at its maximum potential.

What is a Subluxation?

Subluxations are the main concern for Doctors of Chiropractic. I have provided two explanations of Subluxation, the short and the long version.

Vertebral Subluxations: Spinal joint misalignments that can interfere with the nervous system, causing decreased body function resulting in diminished health.

Vertebral Subluxations: In simplest terms, a vertebral subluxation (a.k.a Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine move out of position and create pressure on or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that exit from between the bones of your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.

How does this affect you? Your nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of your body. If you interfere with the signals traveling over nerves, parts of your body will not receive the proper nerve messages and will not be able to function at 100% of their innate abilities. In other words, some part of your body will not be working properly which will result in decreased health.

It is the responsibility of the Doctor of chiropractic to locate subluxations and reduce or correct them. This is done though a series of chiropractic adjustments specifically designed to correct the vertebral subluxations in your spine. Chiropractors are the only professionals who undergo years of training to be the experts at correcting subluxations.

Adjustment: A specifically directed force, normally by hand, designed to reduce the vertebral subluxation, resulting in the return of the normal alignment and motion of the spine.
